Common Questions / FAQ

We understand you might have some questions. Below are the most common questions we get from people thinking about applying for a role with Camp Australia.

If we haven't answered your question here please contact us and we'll get back to you.

Do I need to be qualified?

Assisstants do not need to be Qualified, and Coordinators can either be qualified, or can study with us!

Don't have a qualification? No problems - apply to work with Camp Australia and you immediately become eligible for discounted training through our Registered Training Organisation. Learn and Earn, what better way to get started?

Why do I need a Police Check/Working with Children Check/Blue Card?

Caring for children is a very important position, and for this reason, national regulations require all staff to hold an appropriate working with children check.  Each state of Australia has a different name for it, from a Blue Card, Police Clearance to a Working with Children Check.

If you already have this check - great, it makes getting started that much quicker. Simply provide a copy of your card, check or clearance during the application process.  If you are successful, you can be working with children in under a week.

If you don't have the check, no problems - you can still apply for a role with Camp Australia. While your application is being assessed, we recommend you apply the appropriate check or clearance.  If your application is succesful you can attend your training while waiting for your clearance.  You will be placed into programs only after we have received a copy of your clearance.

Do I need to have First Aid/CPR/Anaphylaxis certification before applying?

If you have completed training in First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis Management in the last 12 months you will hold all the certifications required to work at our programs.  If your last refresher training was more than 12 months ago - you will need to update your training either before or immediately after starting work with us, but we make that easy by helping you  do that through our RTO.

Don't have first aid certificates? No problem. Submit your application and you can access discounted training through the Camp Australia Training Team.

I'm only looking for a few days per week - can I apply?

With hundreds of services across Australia we are always looking for capable staff with the right attitude. If you are only available a few days a week, we would still encourage you to apply.  There are times when our regular staff take holidays, are sick and absent from work or have changes in their personal availability. Emergency and Relief Staff form an essential part of the Camp Australia Team.

What if I'm only looking for Holiday work?

In order to ensure we have staff who are trained and experienced enough to handle working at one of our Holiday Clubs, we do not employ staff solely to work during holiday periods. All staff who we have working during holidays also work during the school term.

Once you're available during the school term, we encourage you to apply. Remember, as our sessions run Outside School Hours, you don't need to be available for the whole day to work with us.
