Qualifications & First Aid

Qualifications

With the introduction of the  National Quality Framework (NQF), eventually qualification requirements will be the same Australia-wide.

From now until 2014, transitional arrangements apply which are different in each State. At present, in most states and in most cases, it is only those who with to Coordinate their own service need to be qualified or studying.

After 2014 it is anticipated that to work in OSHC you will either need to hold, or be studying towards a relevant qualification at some level.

We encourage all staff to being studying towards a qualification, and if you study through our RTO, we contribute towards the cost of whatever course you choose. For mor information about our RTO, click here

What does Qualified mean?

Generally, "Qualified" includes anyone who currently holds, or is presently studying a relevant qualification.

In some circumstances you actually have to have the qualification already, but in most cases as long as you're actively working towards it, that's enough. For more information, speak to a member of our Recruitment Team.

Relevant Qualifcations

There is a long list of relevant qualfications on the ACECQA website, and they differ from one state to another. Generally, relevant qualifications include 2 year (or more) courses in education, child care, sport and recreation, psychology, and some other fields.

More information

For more information about whether your existing qualification or the course you are currently studying qualifies you, can visit the ACECQA website. Be aware that there are some tricky exemptions which apply, so just because your course or qualification isn't listed does NOT necessarily mean it's not counted. To be sure whether or not your course or qualification counts, contact our Recruitment Team.
