THE CHILD CARE BENEFIT EXPLAINED:
CCB is assistance from the Government designed to reduce the overall cost of child care for eligible families. The percentage of benefit a family receives is determined by eligibility criteria, the number of children you have in care and your household income.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Your child is in care
- The child care service is Approved or Registered (Camp Australia is Approved)
- Your child meets the immunisations requirements
- You or your partner meet residency requirements
- You and your partner must satisfy the work/study/training test.
Even if your income is too high to receive CCB, but you meet all other eligibility criteria, from
July 1 2008 linking your family to the Service will entitle you to receive your
Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR) on a quarterly basis.
THE CHILD CARE TAX REBATE EXPLAINED:
From 1 July 2008, if you meet the eligibility criteria for CCB (regardless of income) the Government will provide you with 50% of your out-of-pocket child care costs, up to $7,500 (indexed) per child per year. If you are linked for CCB, you can receive this payment on a quarterly basis.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
Based on this information, we advise that you contact the Family Assistance Office (FAO) to register for CCB. If you qualify for CCB, the FAO will inform Camp Australia of your CCB percentage and we will apply this to your fees.
In doing this you also become eligible for the CCTR to be payed to you by the Government on a quarterly basis.
NEXT STEPS:
- Contact the FAO on 13 61 50 and request to be linked for CCB
- Quote the Provider Number for the OSHC Service
- Once the FAO has linked your children to the Provider Number, they will pass this information on to Camp Australia
- If you are eligible for CCB, Camp Australia will then backdate for the last 28 days any applicable CCB to your fees, and also apply the CCB to your fees going forward (resulting in a reduction in your bill).
